Walk #1

'A Stream through the Woods'

near St-Regis-du-Coin/Riotord, (42) France.

It's a lovely little stream, hidden in a deep wood of fir trees and pines.

From a road that crosses the forest, a little winding path will lead you down a steep slope at the bottom of which runs the stream. On each of its banks broad-leaved trees, moss and clover grow like a small oasis of greenery in the midst of a dark wood of firs with no undergrowth.

A tiny rivulet flows across the darker part of the woods down to the fresh noisy stream. It's a magical place to be in early Summer.

Have a lovely walk!...

Update : Unfortunately, I visited this place last Spring again and discovered with anger and sadness that it was no more. The whole area has been razed to the ground, leaving the river as a big scar in a desolated desert of branches and churned ground. I feel priviledged to have seen this place before it was destroyed and regard these images as an archive, documenting how beautiful and luxurious it was before some human decision erased it from this earth.
